kerline keratin

We transform proteins into value

Keratin is a cysteine-rich protein that can be extracted from low cost, renewable and abundant raw wools. We obtain keratin and engineer it in cutting-edge scaffold (gel, sponges, nanofibers, nanoparticles, film,  etc.) to produce high-end cosmetics, advanced medications and medical devices.

Our high molecular weight water-soluble keratin preserves chemical and biological properties of the native protein and is natural, biocompatible and biological effectiveness.

Keratin properties

Keratin has high similarity with the skin protein, biocompatibility, biodegradability and anti-inflammatory, and wound-healing properties. In its primary structure, there are cell-binding motifs such as leucine-aspartic acid-valine (LDV) and glutamic acid-aspartic acid-serine (EDS) residues capable of supporting cellular attachment and proliferation.
